Use of amiibo Super Nintendo World’s Power-Up Band in detail

Fast streak recently Super Nintendo World Direct Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the park’s Power-Up teams will act as an amibo. Instead of a one-off souvenir, anyone visiting Universal Studios Japan will have a working Super Mario “character” that will stand out from the rest of your collection.

Also posted on custom Amiibo band-up band page, The six teams act as their own Mario character. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi and Toad will now technically be the first new amibos of 2021 when the Super Nintendo World debut takes place in February.

Interestingly, it is noted that these will not work with Wii U or 3DS systems like amiibo. This could be due to internal differences within the Power-Up ranges compared to amiibo, or just the issue of legacy systems that are not updated anymore.

Power-Up Bands will be available when the Super Nintendo World opens on February 4, 2021. Although international travel and theme park visits may not be possible, these “amiibo” will also be coming to both US versions of the park when they eventually open in Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida – the latter is Delayed indefinitely.

When he’s not writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky expects Kirby’s next release, Fire Emblem, or if the stars align at all, Mother 3. Until then, he’s getting a warm break from Super Smash Bros. To keep it going.
