To celebrate Peacock as the new home of “The Office,” Friday’s streaming service shared some never-before-seen footage of the beloved sitcom, featuring Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) taking off from “Matrix” – a prank inspired against Dwight (Ryan Wilson).
In the scene, the couple, with the help of security guard Hank (the late Hugh Dane), try to convince Dwight that he was given a chance to join an underground army to help free humanity. He makes his decision, like Neo’s decision in “The Matrix,” by choosing between two pills.
His choice surprises them all.
As of January 1, all 201 episodes of the series are on the NBCUniversal-owned live broadcasting service. The first two seasons are available for free, while seasons 3 through 9 require a subscription to Peacock Premium at $ 4.99 per month. (An ad-free trial is available for $ 9.99 a month.)
“The return of ‘The Office’ to the NBC family gives access to much of the additional content we originally filmed,” executive producer Greg Daniels said in a statement. “The team at Peacock wanted to create the ultimate destination for audiences, so I went back to the dailies with the original editors of the show and found some never-before-seen shots that were time-cut but still fun to watch.”
“The Office” was broadcast on NBC from 2005 to 2013. She won five Emmys during her nine-season career and a Peabody Award in 2006. She found a second life and a new generation of viewers thanks to live broadcasts and Netflix, with Nielsen appreciating that the show had aired. For 52 billion minutes in 2018.
