Police are looking for six suspects who punched an Asian woman several times in the face for not wearing a mask and told her “anti-Asian statements” about the Corona virus on a subway.

On December 17 at 1.45 p.m., the group – three women and three men – approached the woman, 32, on a southbound train at West Fourth Street Station in Manhattan.

Police said they encountered her for not wearing a mask and made anti-Asian statements about the virus, according to police. ABC7.

Their verbal attack became physical and the victim was punched multiple times in the face before the group escaped.

The victim was bruised but refused medical attention.

The New York Police Department’s Anti-Hate Crime Squad is investigating the incident.

On Sunday, police released four surveillance photos of the six suspects, requested help identifying them and offered a prize of up to $ 2,500.

Since the start of the epidemic, there have been reports of racist attacks against Asian Americans as the first reported cases appeared from Wuhan, China.
