Accountability was a topic on Mondays between Raiders of Las Vegas Players and coach John Groden, who went out of season without last season.
One of the names that has emerged as a player who needs to do a lot off-season to prepare for 2021 is Damon Arnett’s selection in the first round of 2020. The selection for the No. 19 draft last April was a tough season for beginners. He was disrupted by multiple injuries (he broke his wrist in training camp and had concussion problems during the season) and had coronavirus during the season.
Arnett only played nine games as a rookie – and when I was shown Act In play, he had little impact after he had been expected to be a full time player.
On Monday, Gruden had some specific comments on what Ohio State The product needs to be done to help the franchisees in 2021.
“He has to pick it up. He has to get stronger.” Availability is a real concern at the moment, but he has to get into the weight room with Maxx (Crosby) and a lot of these young defensive players. He has to prove that he can stay available during these games.
Disappointing junior season, but very talented young man. We didn’t get all the things we expected from him for many of the reasons I just listed. ”
In fact, the whole Las Vegas High School was disappointing for various reasons in 2020.
Therefore, it might be unfair to refer to a rookie player as the center of the problem, but Groden’s comments make it clear that the raiders are expecting more from Arnette going forward. Expect your new defense co-ordinating employee to get more of the first round product as a top priority.
